What time will the performers arrive?
Stilt walkers arrive a minimum of one hour before the scheduled performance time. This allows sufficient time for costuming, makeup, and safely getting onto the stilts before guests arrive or the performance begins.
What do the performers need upon arrival?
A private preparation area is standard and strongly preferred. If a fully private space is not available, please provide a secure, staff only area where performers can change and store personal belongings while performing.
What is required for getting onto the stilts?
Stilt walkers need a raised seating area to safely put on their stilts. The most common setup is a sturdy chair placed on top of a table against a wall and away from public view. If this is not possible, a stable elevated surface approximately 4 to 5 feet high is ideal.
How tall are the stilts?
Our stilts range from 2 feet to 4 feet in height. The most commonly used height is 3.5 feet, which provides strong visual impact while remaining suitable for most venues.
What stilt heights are available?
Available stilt heights include 2 ft, 2.5 ft, 3 ft, 3.5 ft, and 4 ft. Height selection is based on venue conditions, ceiling clearance, and costume selection.
How much ceiling clearance is required?
Clearance requirements depend on stilt height and costume design. In most cases, a minimum of 10 feet of clearance is sufficient, even when performers are wearing headpieces or tall hats. For lower ceilings, shorter stilts or alternate characters can be arranged.
What do stilt walkers do during the performance?
Stilt walkers primarily engage in interactive animation. This includes posing for photos, greeting guests, high fives, playful movement, and light character interaction.
How long are the sets?
Single hour sets run the full hour non-stop. For multiple hour bookings, short 10 min breaks are required in between sets. For example If you book two hours you will get a full hour then a second 45-50 min set. Some characters like the quad stilts character or LED Robots are shorter sets only.
Are stilt walkers suitable for indoor and outdoor events?
Yes. Stilt walkers can perform both indoors and outdoors, provided the ground surface is dry, and safe. Uneven terrain is usually fine for us professionals.
What happens if the weather is bad for outdoor events?
For outdoor bookings, high winds, rain, excessive snow, or icy surfaces may require adjustments, including switching to shorter stilts, modified costumes, or rescheduling for safety reasons.
